Become a Partner
Introduction
In 2009/10, Tourism Charlottetown & the Prince Edward Island
Convention Partnership will celebrate its fourth anniversary. Building
on the momentum of 2008, we will remain focused on our 5-Year
Strategic Plan ~ Product the Oxygen of Success as its road map for
the future. The staff are focused, aggressive, and have objectives that
relate directly back to the Strategic Plan and our sales targets.
It is a company that practices an integrated approach to research,
product development, sales and marketing with each of these pillars
further broken down by market segmentation.
We are pleased to present our 2009/10 Partnership Handbook,
organized by market segment. Our 2009/10 marketing & sales plans
for each market segment are outlined along with opportunities for
partners to participate in some of the initiatives (where applicable).
These opportunities are presented outside of the regular partnership
fee. It is our hope that this Handbook will allow our partners to plan
and budget in advance according to their business plans and market
segments they deem important to their business.
Additionally, this handbook outlines the 2009/2010 Partnership
Benefits and Rates. Please note that the partnership pricing structure
for accommodations is based on geographic location.

Provincial Mandate vs. Charlottetown Mandate
Tourism Charlottetown & the Prince Edward Island Convention Partnership is contracted by the Provincial Department of Tourism to sell and market Prince Edward Island to the Meetings and Conventions Market.
The Prince Edward Island Convention Partnership is housed with Tourism Charlottetown and is operated as a separate division including: MC&IT market dedicated staff, its own PEI Brand ~ Seaside Social Prince Edward Island, and its own strategy. There are many synergies to the alliance in that the PEI Convention Partnership is supported by Tourism Charlottetown with marketing, partnership management, book-keeping, reception services, web maintenance and communications. This allows the staff of the Prince Edward Island Convention Partnership to be focused on SALES! The shared space, equipment, supplies, etc is also beneficial to the bottom line. The CEO of Tourism Charlottetown also shares the responsibility as the CEO for the Prince Edward Island Convention Partnership with responsibilities including overall strategic direction, funding, budget allocations, and board management. It also should be noted that considerable funding from the Tourism Accommodation Levy in Charlottetown has been, and will continue to be, directed at this market for the benefit of the entire Province.
